4.3 CareerFlow (free tool)
If we provide access to CareerFlow free of charge via our website, it is provided “as available” and may be changed or withdrawn at any time. Where CareerFlow is provided by a third party or includes third-party functionality, separate terms and privacy notices may apply.
4.4 No guaranteed outcomes
Our Services improve presentation, clarity and strategy, but we do not guarantee interviews, job offers, promotions, salary increases, or any particular outcome.
4.5 Age requirement
Our Services are intended for Clients aged 18+. If you are under 18, an adult must purchase and oversee the Services and accept these Terms on your behalf.
5. Booking, orders and contract formation
5.1 How you place an order
You place an order by paying via our accepted payment methods (see section 6) following an agreed quote/package and/or written confirmation of scope (for example by email).
5.2 When the contract is formed
A contract between you and us is formed when we receive your payment for the relevant Services (or project phase, where applicable).
5.3 Right to refuse or stop work
We aim to be fair and professional. We may refuse or stop providing Services if, for example:
- you engage in abusive, harassing or discriminatory behaviour;
- you ask us to do something unlawful; or
- continuing becomes impracticable due to non-cooperation or repeated failure to provide required information.
If we stop work for these reasons, we will explain why and (where appropriate) treat the project as paused or completed based on the stage reached.
6. Prices, payment and VAT
6.1 Pricing and currency
Prices are in GBP (£) unless stated otherwise.
6.2 VAT
We are not VAT-registered, so VAT is not added.
6.3 Payment methods
We accept:
- Bank transfer
- Revolut payment link
- PayPal (where offered)
6.4 Upfront payment and phased packages
- Most work is paid upfront before we begin.
- For some packages, we may agree phased pre-payment (for example: CV first, then a top-up for the rest of the package).
- Each paid phase forms part of the agreed package scope and timing.
6.5 Non-payment / delayed payment
We normally start work only after payment is received. If payment is delayed (most relevant for Business Clients), we may pause delivery times until payment is received.
7. Your responsibilities
To provide the Services properly, you agree to:
- provide accurate and truthful information about your work history, education and achievements;
- supply requested materials promptly (for example existing CVs, role links/specs, target roles);
- review drafts and provide timely feedback; and
- ensure final Deliverables are factually correct before use.
You are responsible for how you use the Deliverables and what you submit to employers, recruiters or platforms.
8. Turnaround times and delivery
8.1 When the clock starts
Turnaround times start when we have:
- received payment; and
- received the key information needed to begin (for example your consultation answers and/or target role information).
8.2 Typical turnaround times
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, the typical time to first draft is 3–5 Working Days.
8.3 If you are slow to respond
If we are waiting for your information, feedback, approvals or booking availability:
- we will pause the clock (turnaround times pause); and
- we will resume once the required information is received.
If we do not hear from you for an extended period, we will handle it fairly:
- after 30 days with no response, we may place the project on hold;
- after 90 days with no response, we may treat the project as closed/completed at the last delivered stage.
Reactivation within 24 months may be possible, but if your circumstances/targets have materially changed or additional work is required, we may quote an additional fee before restarting.
9. Revisions and approvals
9.1 Revisions included
We include revisions until you are happy with the finished product, provided the revisions remain within the agreed Brief.
9.2 What revisions cover (and what they don’t)
Included revisions cover improvements to the agreed Deliverables such as:
- wording, structure, formatting, clarity, tailoring to the agreed target; and
- corrections based on your feedback.
Revisions do not include (and may require a new quote):
- adding entirely new roles/projects that were not in the original information set;
- a major change of direction (for example changing target role/seniority/industry after drafting);
- substantial new content provided late that requires a full re-write beyond the agreed scope.
9.3 How to request revisions
- Please provide feedback via email (or the agreed method) and, where applicable, we’ll return tracked changes in the document.
- To keep turnaround efficient, we may ask for feedback to be consolidated where possible.
9.4 Revision turnaround targets
As a general guide:
- 1–2 Working Days for standard changes;
- 3–5 Working Days for larger rewrites (where agreed and within scope).
9.5 Post-completion minor updates window
For 3 months after completion, we will make minor updates at no extra charge (for example small wording tweaks, formatting tidy-ups, or corrections).
Anything beyond minor updates (for example significant rewrites or change of direction) will be quoted on a bespoke basis.
10. Calls, coaching, scheduling and no-shows
10.1 Platforms
Sessions may be delivered by Google Meet or phone, as agreed.
10.2 Booking methods
Sessions may be booked via Calendly, Koalendar, or by email scheduling.
10.3 Rescheduling
You may reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice. Where possible, we’ll accommodate changes, subject to availability.
10.4 No-shows
If you do not attend a scheduled session:
- we will allow one rebook;
- repeated no-shows or late cancellations may be treated as the session having been delivered.
10.5 Session expiry
Unless otherwise agreed, coaching/interview sessions must be used within 6 months of purchase (or the relevant project phase payment), after which they may expire.
11. Cancellation and refunds (Consumers)
This section applies if you are a Consumer buying at a distance (for example online or by email/phone).
11.1 Your 14-day right to cancel (cooling-off period)
You generally have the right to cancel your contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day we receive payment (the day the contract is formed).
11.2 Starting work during the cancellation period
We typically start work immediately after purchase.
By placing an order, you request that we begin providing the Services during the cancellation period. If you cancel within 14 days after we have started work, you must pay for the Services provided up to the point you cancel (a proportionate amount).
If the Services are fully performed within the cancellation period, you acknowledge that your right to cancel may be lost once full performance is completed.
Important practical note: for this to work properly, we must provide the “start work now” acknowledgement to you before payment (see implementation checklist below).
11.3 How to cancel
To cancel, you must tell us clearly (for example by email). You can use the model cancellation form in the Appendix, but you do not have to.
Send cancellation requests to:
- Email: hello@brendanhope.com
- Post: Brendan Hope CV Writing (BRENDAN HOPE LTD), The Old Stables, Barkston Road, Grantham, Lincolnshire, NG32 2HN, United Kingdom
11.4 Refunds and deductions
If you cancel within the 14-day period:
- if we have not started work, we will refund what you paid;
- if we have started work at your request, we may deduct an amount reflecting the work completed up to cancellation.
We will process refunds using the same payment method (where possible) within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice (or, where relevant, after we receive any returned materials—though we usually deliver digitally).
11.5 After the cooling-off period
After the 14-day period, refunds are not automatic. However:
- if we have made clear, unreasonable errors or the work materially fails to reflect the agreed Brief, we will aim to put things right promptly (for example by correcting/revising).
- if we cannot put things right within a reasonable time, we may agree an appropriate partial refund, depending on the circumstances.
This does not affect your statutory rights regarding services.
12. Business Clients (additional terms)
If you are a Business Client, consumer cancellation rights (section 11) do not apply.
12.1 Payment terms and late payment
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due upfront. If we agree invoice terms with a Business Client and payment is late, we may charge statutory interest and fixed compensation in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts regime.
12.2 Business loss exclusions
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for business losses such as loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of contracts, loss of opportunity, or indirect/consequential losses.
13. Intellectual property
13.1 Ownership of Deliverables
Once full payment is received, you own the final Deliverables created for you (your CV, cover letter, LinkedIn text, etc.).
13.2 Our materials and know-how
We retain ownership of our underlying methods, templates, frameworks, and know-how (even if reflected in the Deliverables).
13.3 Restrictions
You must not resell, licence, or commercially distribute our Deliverables or materials as templates/products for others.
14. Confidentiality and data protection
14.1 Confidentiality
We treat your information as confidential and only use it to provide the Services.
14.2 Subcontractors
We may use subcontractors to help deliver Services. Where we do, we ensure appropriate confidentiality and data-handling arrangements are in place.
14.3 Data protection
We handle personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law. Please read our:
- Privacy Policy: https://brendanhope.com/privacy-policy/
- Cookie Policy: https://brendanhope.com/cookie-policy-uk/
Data retention: we typically retain client files and communications for 24 months, then securely delete or anonymise them unless we need to keep them longer for legal/accounting reasons.

15. Liability and disclaimers
15.1 We do not exclude liability where we cannot
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- any other liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
15.2 Service standard
We will provide Services with reasonable care and skill. If you are a Consumer, you have legal rights if Services are not performed properly.
15.3 No guarantees
We do not guarantee interviews, job offers, or outcomes, and we are not liable for employer/recruiter decisions.
15.4 Your responsibility for accuracy
You are responsible for ensuring all information in your Deliverables is accurate, truthful and appropriate for your use.
15.5 Advice disclaimer
Our Services are career support services. We do not provide legal, immigration, financial, tax, or regulated professional advice.
15.6 Liability cap (Business Clients)
For Business Clients only, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Services is limited to the total fees paid for the Services giving rise to the claim, except where liability cannot be limited by law.
16. Complaints and dispute resolution
16.1 How to complain
Please email: hello@brendanhope.com with “Complaint” in the subject line and include:
- your name and order details;
- what you think went wrong; and
- what outcome you’re seeking.
16.2 Response times
We aim to:
- acknowledge complaints within 2 Working Days; and
- provide a substantive response within 10 Working Days (or explain if we need longer).
16.3 ADR / mediation
If we can’t resolve a complaint directly, you may consider mediation or an appropriate alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider. We are not obliged to use ADR, but we are willing to consider it where appropriate.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version on our website is the current version and applies to new orders from its effective date.
18. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a Consumer living elsewhere, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in your local courts under mandatory consumer protection rules.
